What is the purpose?
Specific Objective: 4.2 - Improving equal access to inclusive and quality services in education, training and lifelong learning through developing accessible infrastructure, including by fostering resilience for distance and on-line education and training
The overall objective of the project is to bridge the digital and educational gaps in the Belene-Alexandria region by creating virtual classrooms equipped with cutting-edge technologies like Virtual Reality (VR). This initiative aims to revolutionize the learning process by making education more immersive, interactive, and accessible. The project will focus on generating educational content in VR, particularly related to the cultural-historical heritage of the region, thus enhancing students' ability to retain information and deepening their understanding of local history.

Status
The project is currently in implementation. The following was achieved:
- An opening press conference of the project was held on 23.10.2025 in the town of Belene.
- The detailed Strategic Plan for implementation of Joint Training Schemes was created, specifying all important aspects that guarantee the achieving of Virtual Heritage project objectives and its long-lasting impact after the end of the project and the first roundtable was organized on 18.12.2025, attended by educators, experts, stakeholders and technology providers to discuss innovative strategies that can improve the digital learning experience in Alexandria and Belene.
- The procedure for the creation of the project’s online platform was finalized by PP2 by signing the contract on 14.11.2025.
- A contract was signed by the LP on 19.09.2025 for the implementation of external services for research/ investigation/ documentation of the cultural and historical heritage and a comprehensive and memorable report named "Information and data related to the cultural and historical heritage, with an emphasis on the general Roman heritage of the Lower Danube" was created.
- PP2 signed contract for purchase of VR equipment on 18.12.2025.
